Can I Become a Member? 

The Can I Become a Member campaign is about creating genuine European political parties. The campaign started in the fall of 2006, where New Europe's Steen Gade, Sofie Carsten Nielsen and Søren Winther Lundby attempted to register as members with The Greens, ELDR and PES respectively, that is the three centre-left praties in the European Parliament. We sent a registration form, created by New Europe for this project, and we each added a €20 "membership fee". The point, of course, was to illustrate the absurdity of the fact that none of the parties in the European Parliament allow individual membership.
