Citizens' Key to Europe 

Citizens' Key to Europe is our campaign for the proposal for a democratic infrastructure, that we have described in our position paper "Charter 47". The first segment of the campaign was, that we in 2005 wrote an open letter to the European Council, suggesting that Commission Vice-President Margot Wallström should head a European Round Table for Democracy. This project would of course work towards realising the idea of a democratic infrastructure. An idea that she herself had presented in the newspaper European Voice, the year before.

Margot Wallström welcomed the proposal, which was mentioned on the front page of EUObserver. Incidentially it was also here that Wallström's socalled Plan D (for Democracy) was mentioned for the first time. Hereafter we cooperated with SOLIDAR in initiating a meeting in Brussels, where Margot Wallström was presented with the Citizen's Key to Europe.
