Waves of Democracy 2007 

Waves of Democarcy is a project we are running with IUC-Europe and a Greek partner. At the end of September we will bring together 100 young people from all of Europe, for one week. 50 of these will meet at Brandbjerg Højskole in Denmark and the remaining 50 will meet under similar conditions on the Greek island of Rhodes. During this stay the participants have to prepare 2 x 1 Citizens Agenda. In the middle of October ten representatives will then meet to prepare a joint document with recommendations for the decision makers of the EU.  

Waves of Democracy is a good example of what we, in New Europe, feel shold be the focus point of a de facto democratic infrastructure. The key issue is that we, as citizens, should meet face-to-face across country borders to discuss politics.
